Where the locals go
Leonards House of Love
Welcome to Leonard's House of Love in South Yarra, your go-to spot for a relaxed vibe and good times. This local gem is pet-friendly, so expect to encounter some furry friends while you enjoy your visit. Dive into their must-try OG chicken tenders served with a zesty chipotle sauce, paired perfectly with poutine fries for that ultimate indulgence. And if you’re in the mood for a drink, their margaritas won’t disappoint! The great outdoor area, complete with twinkling party lights, sets the stage for a memorable evening. Inside, you’ll find a cozy ambience with a pool table for some friendly competition and an open fireplace to keep you warm during those cooler months. Leonard's is where good food, friends, and fun come together!
Abacus
Abacus Bar is the go-to spot for a laid-back long brunch that’s all about celebrating local flavors. Their velvety scrambled eggs are a must-try, made with the freshest seasonal produce. Whether you’re sipping on coffee like a true local or kicking things off with a cheeky mimosa, the warm, welcoming vibe makes it the perfect place to start your day.
But Abacus isn’t just about brunch (though we’re obsessed). As the sun sets, the menu shifts into something equally amazing, featuring dishes packed with fresh, local goodness. With its relaxed yet stylish atmosphere, it’s the ideal place to wind down after a big day or toast to something special.
Mr Myagi
Mr. Miyagi is an absolute must-visit, tucked down the Windsor end of Chapel Street where all the cool spots are. The easiest move? Go for the "Feed Me" option and let them handle the hard part—you’ll get to try a bit of everything, and it’s all ridiculously good.
The salmon taco? Absolute perfection. And the Pumpkin Toast dessert? Look, I don’t usually go for dessert, but this one is next-level. Think warm pumpkin bread, white chocolate ganache, spiced pumpkin ice cream and honeycomb—it’s impossible to resist.
With its buzzing vibe and knockout menu, Mr. Miyagi is all about good times and even better food. Go hungry, leave happy!
Farmers Daughters
Farmer’s Daughters is a must for us—after all, we are farmer’s daughters! With our dad being a cattle farmer, they’re all about celebrating the incredible local produce, so how could we not go?
We loved the attention to detail—perfectly balanced between rustic charm and modern sophistication. It’s very City Country Chic!
We shared an incredible meal with my sister and brother-in-law, filled with amazing flavors and great conversation, before strolling down to Her Majesty’s Theatre for a matinee of Tina: The Musical.
Farmer’s Daughters is a true celebration of country Victoria.
